UE calls for truly universal health care reform, and criticizes any reform that falls short of making access to health care marriage-neutral. Today, marriage is the on / off switch for access to health care in America. Marital status is a barrier not only to obtaining health insurance, but also to establishing hospital rights and to caring for significant others without job penalties.
In this section, you’ll find information that is personal, political, and totally unique. No other organization is dedicated to ending marriage discrimination in health care.
Volunteers and interns are working with UE staff to research and write more special topics, so we expect to add many more pages to this section. Want to help? Click here to volunteer!
Or, make a contribution so staff can spend less time fundraising and more time on health care advocacy.
