		<description>I&#039;ve heard it suggested over the last few years that, as a compromise on the debate over gay marriage, perhaps the government should limit itself to civil unions only, leaving marriage to the churches.

In the aftermath of Proposition 8 maybe AtMP can suggest this as a compromise course that might be acceptable to all sides.

The potential downside is that the gay community might see it as a way of denying them marriage just when they&#039;re on the verge of getting it.</description>
